Richardson is considered an older inner-ring suburb adjacent to Dallas however much of the city is still affluent. It is home to more than 5,000 businesses many of which are in it’s business center known as the Telecom Corridor. Although Richardson is 76 percent white the Hispanic population has more than doubled and is more the twice the size of the Black population which has seen a small increase in the last decade. In 2008, Richardson was ranked as the 18th best place to live in the United States and the 4th best place to live in Texas.
