Red Bird
The Red Bird area of Dallas is a complete neighborhood of middle and working-class housing, apartments, churches, and shopping. This area of Dallas is nestled in the southwest corner of the city and boarders the southern suburbs of Duncanville and Desoto. Cost of living is very reasonable and its proximity to three freeways makes it convenient to get in and out of the area
The area is split by Hampton road. East of Hampton is made up of mostly middle class single family homes. Median household incomes range from $40,000 to more than 60,000.
West of Hampton has heavy concentrations of retail and dense apartment complexes made up of working class singles, couples, and single parent families. Incomes on this side of Hampton range from $20,000 to $26,000.

churches from the late nineties up until 2008. Most of this new development is located on the I-20 and Weatland corridors and includes some new major big-box retailers. This activity is countered somewhat by the slowdown and closing of some retail on the Camp Wisdom rd corridor which lost some of its big box retail including 2 anchors at the Southwest Center Mall.
This area is also home to many of Dallas' Black mega-churches. Every Sunday African Americans come from miles away to worship here in the Red Bird area.
