Pleasant Grove is located in the southeast section of the city. This is an interesting community. It is a working-class area with a good balance of black, Hispanic and white households. 81% of households are single detached homes but the median home value is only $55,000. One of the local news stations reported that many middle-class whites were becoming interested in the area because of the low cost of housing and its proximity to downtown. But be assured gentrification has not taken hold here yet.
